1/19/03 - Kyle broke neck at C-7 level, fell off 4-wheeler.
1/22/03 - Surgery in Orlando, FL to repair neck, result - paralyzed from the chest down.
2/12/03 - Moved by ambulance to Brooks Rehab center in Jacksonville, FL
2/14/03 - Seizures, loss of blood - 24 pints in 10 days and 106.7 fever. Moved to Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville.

3/18/03 - Surgery at Memorial Hospital, result - removed half of stomach due to ulcers and removed gall bladder completely. 3/22/03 - Recovering from surgery, hoping to get back to rehab center asap. 3/26/03 - Kyle moved back to Brooks Rehab, let the therapy begin! 4/3/03 - Kyle became nauseous and fever is back, 102 degrees. he is having a reaction to new antibiotic to get rid of infection in lungs 4/7/03 - Kyle's fever is gone. Now some really great news... Kyle moved 3 fingers. 2 on 1 hand, 1 on the other. 4/13/03 - Kyle finally got his body brace off. He is now just wearing a neck collar. Today he gets to finally see his two beloved dogs Cocoa and Cookie!
4/ 26/03 - Kyle is battling 2 separate infections. He is also trying out various wheelchairs and looking forward to his tentative release date the end of next month! He met with Make-A-Wish Foundation. 5/1/03 - Kyle has trachea removed. 5/2/03 - Kyle received his new laptop computer - now he can read his email from his own room, do his school work, watch DVD's and listen to CD's! 5/6/03 - Our new motto, "No news is good news"! 5/16/03 - For the first time in four months, Kyle leaves the hospital to go eat his favorite food - pizza! 5/21/03 - Kyle and his two best hospital buddies go out to the movies. They watched "Matrix Reloaded". 5/24/03 - Kyle gets to come home for 8 hours. he visits both his grandparents, all his aunts, uncles, cousins and finally gets to stroll thru home sweet home. Soon, he is off to his party, "Kyles Quest". Wow, what a celebration! Over 200 people waiting for him to come thru the door for this very short, but emotional event.
